New Database Engine:
Version 15.2 was designed with Microsoft SQL Express 2005
databases instead of the Microsoft Access databases used in
v15.1. SQL databases are much more powerful, more reliable, and
perform better in multi-user environments.
Two Different Installs:
Since there are different SQL engines for 32-bit and 64-bit
Windows operating systems, there are now two different
installation files for WinBidPro v15.2. There is still only one
patch file since the program itself is the same for both 32 and
64 bit computers.
Co-exists with v14 and
v15.1: The v15.2 program will co-exist with previous
versions of GDS Software, so you don't have to uninstall an
older version if one exists on your computer. The v15.2 install
will place a "Blue v15 Icon" on your desktop. See "Step 2" below
for information on importing catalogs from these older versions.

v15.2
EXE Patch(Posted 08-26-10)
Run this patch file to fix an error in the Optimizer when you
try to "Get Elevation Parts"
If you downloaded the v15.2 program
prior to August 6th, you will need to run the following
file, and click UnZip. This will require you to delete
the vendors you have imported, and you will then need to
re-import your vendors from the 15.1 version.
To delete vendors from v15, you first have
to open the program, click on the Vendors link, select the
vendor from the list, then click Delete. This merely removes the
vendor from the list. The next step is to go to your
C:\WinBidPro folder, open the
vendor folder, and delete any file with a "mdf" and "ldf"
extension. There will be some files with "bak" in the name, but
you can go ahead and delete them as well. Once you have deleted
these files from each of the vendors you originally imported,
you can now re-run the "Access to SQL" import utility and
re-import your vendors.
There are two ways to add catalogs
to the v15.2 SQL software. You can choose any of the
catalogs below and run the install for a given
manufacturer, or you can run the "GDS v15 to SQL
Importer" with the icon that was added to your desktop.
Catalogs imported from v15 will have carry over all of
pricing and job information. Since the v15.2 program
shares the same WinBidPro folder with v15.1, the vendor
folders are also shared. This means the drawing and
details files are all the same.
Only catalogs that have been
configured for v15 are listed below. As we configure
more vendors for this software, they will be added to
the list below.
Import Catalogs:
You will find two icons on your desktop that will allow
you to import catalogs into v15.2.
1. GDS v14 to v15 SQL Importer: This icon will
let you import catalogs from your v14 GDS software. All
parts, prices, framing systems, and details will be
imported, but NOT jobs.
2. GDS v15 to v15 SQL Importer: This icon will
let you import all catalogs that are found in the v15.1
software. All information, including jobs, will be
imported into v15.2 using this tool.
Pick a Vendor Catalog:
Click one or more catalogs
below and select "Run" or save the install file to your
computer, then run it from there. NOTE: These are the
same catalogs listed for download to v15.1, except they
have been converted to the SQL database format.
Microsoft .NET 3.5 Setup
- Run this file if you are having problems installing the latest
WinBidPro software. You may be receiving a VectorDraw Framework
error or a .NET error during the installation. This file will
install the latest .NET framework on your computer, then you can
try running the WinBidPro install file again.
SQLEXPR.EXE - (64-bit) This is the Microsoft SQL Server
Express 2005 64-bit installation file. If you have trouble with
the WinBidPro v15.2 install file getting SQL Server Express
installed, you can run this file. Save this file to a download
or temporary folder on your computer, then run the file to begin
the installation process.
SQLEXPR32.EXE - (32-bit) This is the Microsoft SQL Server
Express 2005 32-bit installation file. If you have trouble with
the WinBidPro v15.2 install file getting SQL Server Express
installed, you can run this file. Save this file to a download
or temporary folder on your computer, then run the file to begin
the installation process.
VDConverter.zip -
Save this file to your C:\WinBidPro\VCAD folder if you don't see
drawings in the VCAD program. If you have Windows Vista, right
click on the Setup.exe and click "Run as Administrator" to go
through the installation.
Key
Install File - Run this file if you are having trouble
getting your USB Dongle key to work on your computer. You can
also save it to your C:\WinBidPro\Security folder if you like,
and run it from there.
