Step 1: WinBidPro v15
Test Version (Beta 4 release v15.0.38) Download
- IMPORTANT:
This latest install will Uninstall your existing version of
WinBidPro. The program installs in your "C:\WinBidPro" folder.
Take note of what drive letter it wants to install in when
you run the installation file. Sometimes it will pick
different drive letter if you have more than one partition
or hard drive. It will let you change this during the
install, so you can choose the drive you want.
- Your vendor files and
folders will not be removed when the older version is
uninstalled. However, if you have created a folder somewhere
else for your vendors and Master.mdb file, you might have to
set the location of the master file via the System Defaults
menu option. You should only have to do this if you don't
see your vendors when you open the new program.
- This new install file will
install the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 if you do not
already have it on your system. This is the reason for the
large install file size.
- GDS will not be able to
provide phone technical support for this Beta release, but
we would like use the
WinBidPro Forum to ask questions and post comments.
- Refer to the instructions
below for the Import Utility to import catalogs from the v14.1
program. This is optional since there is a Sample Vendor
included.
- There are some training
videos at the bottom of this page that will help new users
get started with this new version. Some of the screens have
changed, so we will be updating these videos, and adding
more as we go.
- Go to our
WinBidPro Forum
to send us comments and/or questions about this new program.

Step 2: (Optional) Run Import Utility to
Convert v14.1 Catalogs
- After installing WinBidPro, you can run the v15 Import Utility
icon on your desktop. There is a file called v15Import.exe
in the "C:\Program Files\WinBidPro" folder on your
computer that handles this task.
- Upon running this utility, you will see a list of your
current v14.1 vendors to select for importing.
- If your v14.1 program is not
on your C drive, you will need to Browse to locate it.
- If you changed the path of
the installed v15 program, you will need to Browse to locate
it.
- You can also click the
Import Glass & Company Info button at the bottom of the
import utility to copy over this information from v14 to
v15.

Step 3: Send Us Your Comments and
Questions
- Please do not call us with
problems and questions on the new v15 program as we must
continue working diligently on this while it is being tested.
You may, however, fill out the response form or send us an
email with questions and/or comments.
- Click the button below to
go to the
WinBidPro Forum where you can report bugs and ask
questions. This forum is monitored daily by GDS and will
allow now only our staff to answer questions, but also users
like yourself. Give as much
detail as possible/necessary so that we can respond to it
accordingly.

v15Import.exe (updated
07-16-08) - Save this file to your C:\WinBidPro folder to fix an
import "Can not create duplicate records" error while importing
with the older file. Double click the icon on your desktop to
run this importer again after saving this file. Be sure to
overwrite the existing file.
Master.mdb - Save this file
to your C:\WinBidPro folder if you
have trouble opening v15 even after running the Repair Utility.
Location.mdb
- Save this file to your C:\WinBidPro folder if you accidentally
changed the Master.mdb location to the wrong file, and you can't
open the program anymore. |
